Turmeric (Curcuma longa) essential oil benefits

Turmeric Oil is very useful with aching joints, arthritis, chronic inflammation and after strenuous exercise. It is also excellent for digestive issues (gassy tummy) and to ease pre-menstrual tension and menstrual discomfort.

It's anti-fungal and antiseptic and it is very active in healing acne and prevent further breakouts. 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

Botanical Name: Curcuma longa

Method of Extraction: Steam distillation of the roots

Origin: India

Color: Pale  to vivid yellow

Aroma: warm, spicy

Blends well with: Bergamot, Blue Tansy, Carrot Seed, Cedarwood, Coriander Seed, Geranium, Ginger, Lavender, Orange, Black Pepper, Petitgrain, and Sandalwood.

Therapeutic properties: Analgesic, antibacterial, anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, , carminative,  digestive

HOW TO USE

Dilute 4-5 drops of Turmeric oil to 5 ml of carrier oil and massage to relieve still muscles and joints. Do not use on inflamed areas immediately after a sprain or strain (use Peppermint or Plai instead).

 

Dilute 5-6 drops of Turmeric  oil to 5 ml of carrier oil and massage tummy to relieve menstrual tension. Blend with Lavender, Clary Sage, Marjoram

Dilute 2-3 drops of Turmeric oil to a cream base (5 ml/gr). 

Do not apply undiluted Turmeric. Not for internal intake.
