Fir silver (Abies alba) essential oil benefits

Fir is very valuable for respiratory complaints such as coughs, bronchitis, and sinusitis. It is useful also for fever, muscular and rheumatic pains. It’s a very refreshing, lively oil which encourages optimism and emotional balance. Fir thrives from Siberia to Canada to Europe. It is a gentle oil and often used for children as a substitute to Pine. 

It is also known as Silver Fir.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Botanical Name: Abies alba

Method of Extraction: Steam distillation from the needle, twigs

Origin: Canada

Color: Pale yellow

Aroma: Fresh, woody with a fruity-camphoraceous tone

Note: middle

Blends well with: Lemon, Cedarwood, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Pine, Rosemary, Frankincense

Therapeutic properties: Analgesic, antiseptic, antitussive, astringent, deodorant, expectorant, rubefacient, stimulant, tonic

 

HOW TO USE

Burn or diffuse 3-4 drops to support  and disinfect the respiratory system

Add 3-4 drops every 5 ml of a carrier and rub on the chest for respiratory complaints or for muscular pain
