Ultimate Facial Massage: Acupressure, Lymph & Fascia Method

Posted by Daniela Pelonara

Discover how combining three ancient techniques can transform your skin from within, creating results that skincare products alone cannot achieve.

Beyond Surface-Level Skincare: Why Facial Massage Works

Most skincare routines focus solely on applying products to the surface of your skin. But what if the secret to truly radiant skin lies in how you apply these products?

Our Ultimate Facial Massage combines acupressure, lymphatic drainage, and fascia release to target what lies beneath your skin's surface:

  • Your energy meridians
  • Lymphatic pathways
  • Facial muscles and connective tissue

The result? A natural face lift effect with reduced puffiness, enhanced glow, and deeply relaxed facial muscles—creating benefits that no cream alone can deliver.

Three Powerful Techniques in One Ritual

Acupressure: Energy Point Activation

Derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine, facial acupressure involves applying pressure to specific points that connect to your body's energy pathways.

Key benefits:

    • Releases facial tension
    • Improves circulation
    • Relieves sinus pressure and headaches
    • Promotes general well-being

Lymphatic Drainage: Your Natural Detox System

Your lymphatic system removes waste and toxins but lacks its own pump—it relies on movement to function properly.

Signs of facial lymphatic congestion:

    • Persistent morning puffiness
    • Dull, congested complexion
    • Pronounced under-eye circles

Gentle, targeted strokes help detoxify your face, resulting in more sculpted features and clearer skin.

Fascia Release: Deep Tissue Freedom

Facial fascia—the connective tissue beneath your skin—can become tight and restricted from stress, leading to tension lines and sagging. Using tools like guasha stones helps release this tissue, encouraging:

    • Natural lifting effect
    • Improved blood circulation
    • Relaxed facial muscles

Your Complete At-Home Facial Massage Ritual

Follow this step-by-step guide to transform your skincare routine into a therapeutic practice. Set aside just 10 minutes in a quiet space.

Native Essentials Skincare Facial Acupressure

PART 1: Facial Acupressure (Without Oil)

Begin with clean, dry skin. Apply medium pressure to these key points, holding each for 5-10 seconds while breathing deeply:

  1. Eye Point (between eyebrows): Reduces stress
  2. Temple Points: Relieves eye strain and headaches
  3. Jaw Points (where jaw meets ear): Releases TMJ tension
  4. Under-Checkbone Points: Relieves sinus pressure
  5. Base of Skull Points: Releases neck tension

Apply firm but comfortable pressure—you should feel a gentle sensation, never pain.

PART 2: Lymphatic Drainage (With or Without Light Oil)

Using extremely light pressure (lymphatic vessels are just beneath the skin):

  1. Open the Pathways
Place fingertips at the base of your neck above your collarbones. Using feather-light downward strokes, sweep toward the lymph nodes. This creates a "downstream" effect, opening pathways for fluid to drain. Repeat 5 times.

  2. Jawline Sweep
Starting from the centre of your chin, sweep outward along your jawline toward your ears and the lymph nodes there. Repeat 5 times.

  3. Cheek Drainage
From beside your nose, sweep outward along your cheekbones toward your temples. Repeat 5 times.

  4. Under-Eye Refresh
With your ring fingers, gently sweep from the inner corners of your eyes toward your temples. Be extremely gentle with this delicate area. Repeat 5 times.

  5. Forehead Detox
From the centre of your forehead, sweep outward toward your temples. Repeat 5 times.

  6. Final Drainage Seal
Return to your collarbones and repeat those gentle downward strokes to complete the lymphatic circuit. Repeat 5 times.

Your face should now feel noticeably lighter and less puffy, ready for deeper work.

PART 3: Fascia Release (Hand Massage or Massage with Guasha)

Now it's time to nourish and stimulate the deeper facial tissues:

  1. Oil Application
Warm 2-4 drops of a Face Oil between your palms. Close your eyes, inhale the botanical aroma deeply, then press the oil onto your face and neck.

  2. Neck & Décolletage
Using your gua sha's wide edge, stroke upward from the collarbone to the jawline. Always move upward against gravity for a natural lifting effect.

  3. Jawline Sculpting
Glide your gua sha from chin to ear along your jawline using medium pressure.

  4. Cheekbone Definition
With upward and outward strokes, move from the corners of your mouth toward your temples, following your cheekbones' natural curve.

  5. Eye Area Rejuvenation
Using the smallest edge of your gua sha, gently stroke outward under your eyebrows and around your eyes.

  6. Forehead Tension Release
Glide your gua sha from between your eyebrows outward to your hairline.

  7. Pressure Point Finale
Complete your ritual by applying gentle pressure to:

    • Between your eyebrows (reduces mental tension)
    • Below your earlobes (connects to facial nerve pathways)
    • Along your jawbone (releases TMJ tension)

Hold each point for one deep breath before releasing.
