Cardamom (Elettaria cardamom) essential oil benefits

 Cardamom is refreshing and uplifting. Perfect for the digestive system, it helps with colic, gas, and nausea, and has a warming effect on the stomach which is especially useful for heartburn. Cardamom is also used as an expectorant. It has warming aphrodisiac qualities as it promotes a desire for intimacy.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Botanical Name: Elettaria cardamom

Method of Extraction: Steam distillation of the seeds

Origin: India

Color: Pale yellow to pale green

Aroma: spicy, balsamic, warm, sweet

Note: middle

Blends well with: Bergamot, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Clove buds, Coriander, Fennel, Ginger,  Lemon, Sweet Orange, Patchouli, Rose, Frankincense

Therapeutic properties: Antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, cephalic, digestive, diuretic, laxative, nerve tonic, stimulant, stomachic

HOW TO USE

As an aphrodisiac, burn 2-3 drops every 5 hours.

Dilute 2-5 drops max every 5 ml of carrier oil for a relaxing, calm and aphrodisiac massage.

In case of upset stomach and indigestion 2-3 drops max to 1 teaspoon of a carrier (5 ml) and massage the stomach area clockwise; alternatively 4-5 drops in warm water applied with a hot compress.
