Blue Cypress (Callitris intratropica) essential oil benefits

Blue Cypress grows in Northern Australia and the oil obtained by steam distilling the barks and heart woods and requires long distillation times of up to 48 hours. Because of its chemical composition and properties, it is considered the Australia version of Blue Chamomile. 

Blue Cypress is well knows for its soothing and calming properties, both for skis care and as relaxing agent when feeling stressed and anxious.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Botanical Name: Callitris intratropica

Method of Extraction: Steam distillation of the bark and heart wood

Color: Brilliant Blue

Aroma: smoky sweet, balsamic, woody honey like scent

Note: top / middle

Blends well with:  Lavender, Tea tree, Geranium, Pine, Orange, Sandalwood, Clary sage, Juniper, Rose, Jasmine, Cardamom

Therapeutic properties: Analgesic, Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic,  sedative, tonic 

 

HOW TO USE


For relaxation and better sleep burn 2-4 drops.

 
For a soothing and calming preparation, add 0.5 % to 1% Blue Cypress essential oil to a carrier oil or a cream.


This oil is gentle and can be used in low dilution with children 6y+
