The magic 5 natural Vitamins you must have in your skincare

Posted by Daniela Pelonara on

Can natural vitamins really boost your skincare and give you flawless skin? The answer is yes, yes, yes!

From the well known Vitamin-C to newcomers like Bakuchiol, vitamin-enriched skincare contains way more than meets the eye.

We have put together a guide to all you need to know about truly natural vitamins used in natural skincare formulations.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A aka Retinoic Acid, Retinol

  • Improves Collagen and Elastic regeneration
  • Treats fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reverses photo-damage.

Many fixed oils contain a good amount of Vitamin A (Rosehip, Marula, Apricot), while a fat-soluble extract from Psoralea corylifolia seeds called Bakuchiol has the highest concentration. If you have very sensitive skin, Vitamin A rich botanicals and bakuchiol rich skincare should be avoided.

Vitamin b3

Vitamin B3 aka Niamicide

  • Improves skin texture and hyperpigmentation
  • Boosts cellular energy
  • Brightens the skin

Vitamin B3 is sourced from cereals and works best when combined with Q10 and/or Vitamin C. It helps reducing inflammation and hyperpigmentation, smooth the skin texture, and brighten the skin; however, it can be quite strong even on normal skin.

Vitamin B5

Vitamin B5 aka d-Panthenol

  •  Soothes irritated skin
  •  Helps healing inflamed skin faster
  •  Deeply hydrating

Provitamin B5 is an amazing skin soother, healer, and protector. Not only it increases skin hydration but it also improves its softness and elasticity, making provitamin B5 ideal for dry and rough skin. Great for all skin types.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C aka ascorbic acid, ascorbyl palmitate

  •  Potent anti-oxidant
  •  Efficient skin brightening agent
  •  Regulates Collagen synthesis

Possibly the start of all vitamins, Vitamin C is a great anti-aging weapon in your arsenal. It's a fantastic anti-oxidant and aids stimulates the skin's natural regeneration process. Use it in low concentration if you have sensitive skin and don't use any products with Vitamin C before sun exposure as it can be photo-toxic.

 Vitamin E

Vitamin E aka a-tocopherol

  • Protects against oxidative damage.
  • Helps reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring
  • Heals inflamed skin

Vitamin E can be very helpful for a range of skin disorders such as dry eczema, rosacea ... as well as being a very good skin repair agent,  from sun damage to healing support for scars or burns.
